DO I NEED TO BE A PART OF A CARNIVAL BAND TO GET MY MAKEUP DONE?

  • Anyone can book this makeup service regardless of whether they have a costume for the carnival parade or not.

DO YOU OFFER EYE MAKEUP SERVICE ONLY?

  • No. Not at this time.

HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT FOR 2 OR MORE PEOPLE?

  • Select the time that all the group members would like to do their appointment. Then, select the total number of people in the group that is getting their makeup done. Then click the pink  Add-to-Bag button. All appointments on carnival day would be completed at the same time by multiple artists.

WHAT IF THERE ARE ZERO (0) APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE AT A SPECIFIC TIME?

  • If there are (0) appointments available, then this means appointments are sold out at that specific time. Select a different appointment time to continue with your booking.

HOW MANY MAKEUP ARTISTS ARE AVAILABLE?

  • Usually there are anywhere between 10 and 30 makeup artists in the Face Candy Studio popup salons. For Toronto Carnival, you can expect closer to the higher end of that range.

CAN I BOOK A SPECIFIC ARTIST?

  • Clients usually see the next available artist on the Face Candy Studio team. However, upon arrival, a client may provide the name of the specific makeup artist she wants, to the hostess.

DO YOU OFFER ANY DISCOUNTS FOR GROUPS?

  • Yes. A $10 discount for each group member can be used to book 6 or more appointments in one transaction. Use coupon code: LUVMYGROUP. Once a group discount has been applied, the group leader is responsible for paying 6 or more balances. If the group falls below 6 members, the group discount would be forfeited, and the original discount would be removed.
  • Also, free makeup appointments are available via monthly giveaways.

ARE THERE ANY UPGRADES?

  • Body glitter and body bronzer are considered upgrades and can be booked here.

ARE THERE ANY HEALTH RULES REGARDING COVID-19?

  • To maintain distance and great air circulation, clients are asked to wait briefly outside the salon until they can be escorted to a makeup chair. Also, clients are welcome to wear masks, and use the hand sanitizers available, before and during their eye makeup session to decrease extended exposure to artists.

IS IT SAFE TO BRING MY COSTUME?

  • Yes. Feathered backpacks would be tagged and gently placed aside on carpeted floors or tables, depending upon the size.

COULD I WEAR OR BRING MY OWN LASHES?

  • Yes. However, bringing your own lashes or makeup of any sort does not decrease the price of your makeup appointment.

CAN I BRING MY FRIEND OR HUSBAND WITH ME TO MY APPOINTMENT?

  • Due to limited space, any friend who does not have an appointment would have to wait outside the popup salon which is usually in a hotel lobby or hallway.

Policies

Late Policy for Carnival Makeup Appointments

  • Clients are required to arrive 10 minutes early to allow for check-in and setup.

    Clients who arrive more than 15 minutes late will receive a shortened service without gems, body tattoo, complimentary photoshoot, or in some cases, no facials or body glitter to avoid disrupting the schedule.

    Clients who arrive 30 minutes or more late, would be considered a no-show and the appointment would be canceled with no refund or credit issued. Clients can simply rebook at full price for a later time, if there’s availability.

    Timeliness ensures every client receives the full, high-quality experience.

Carnival Makeup Appointments Time Revision Policy

  • Appointment times are final at the time of booking and are reserved exclusively for you. No time changes, adjustments, or swaps will be permitted without an additional payment transaction, once an appointment is confirmed and an email confirmation has been sent, regardless of reason.

    This includes (but is not limited to): travel delays, schedule conflicts, costume issues, health or fatigue scenarios, transportation problems, or personal emergencies.

    Clients who request a schedule change of appointment time, would be directed to purchase an additional $20 Time Revision Add-On Service. Note: These spots are extremely limited to maintain a timely workflow. If a specific appointment time, or a specific carnival event is not available on the Time Revision Add-on Service page, this indicates there is no availability at your preferred new time, and your request cannot be granted.

Balance Payment Policy for Carnival Makeup Appointments

  • Clients may secure their appointment by either paying the full payment at the time of booking or by placing a non-refundable deposit with the remaining balance due within 60 days after placing the deposit.

    If your date of service falls within 60 days, then only full payments would be accepted.

    Failure to submit the remaining balance by the applicable deadline will result in automatic cancellation of the appointment, and the original deposit will be forfeited. No reminders or grace periods are guaranteed.

    By booking, clients acknowledge and agree that balance payment deadlines are firm and that unpaid balances will result in loss of the appointment without exception.

Group Service Policy for Carnival Makeup Appointments

  • All group makeup services require one designated payer and group leader. This individual is solely responsible for booking, communication, and payment of the full group balance, regardless of how costs are split among group members.

    Once a group appointment is confirmed, the full balance remains due even if one or more members withdraw, cancel, arrive late, or do not show. Adjustments will not be made for changes in attendance.

    A group discount may be available for parties of six (6) or more. Discount eligibility is not automatic and must be requested at the time of booking or inquiry. Discounts will not be applied retroactively.

    All group members must arrive on time, and the group leader must be present at the scheduled start time. Late arrivals may result in reduced service time or cancellation without refund, at our discretion, in order to remain on schedule for other clients.

    By booking a group service, the payer acknowledges full financial responsibility and agrees to all terms outlined above.

Carnival Makeup Appointments Cancellation Policy

  • All payments made to secure a makeup appointment or group service are non-refundable and non-transferable. Payments are applied toward reserving venues, transportation, products, and staffing, and are not based on service completion or attendance.

    Cancellations made for any reason, including but not limited to illness, travel delays, schedule conflicts, weather, personal emergencies, or changes of mind, do not qualify for a refund or credit.

    If a client fails to appear for their appointment, arrives too late to be serviced (30 minutes or more), or requests to cancel immediately after booking, the makeup appointment will be treated as a no-show, and all payments will be forfeited.

    In the event, the business must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, the client will be offered a full refund  or store credit, at the business’s discretion. Note: Refunds are not guaranteed and will only be issued if legally required.

    By completing a booking and submitting payment, the client acknowledges and agrees that:

    • They are purchasing time and availability, not a guaranteed outcome

    • They waive the right to dispute or chargeback payments for cancellations or no-shows

    • This policy applies regardless of payment method, including card, installment, or deposit payments

    This policy is displayed prior to checkout and accepted at the time of booking.

Chargeback and Refund Policy for Carnival Makeup Appointments

  • All sales are final. By purchasing any service, package, deposit, installment plan, or add-on service, the client acknowledges that no refunds will be issued under any circumstances, except where required by law.

    Payments made to the business are considered non-refundable retainers that secure venue, time, staffing, product, preparation, and availability. Refunds are not based on service completion, satisfaction, attendance, or personal circumstances.

    Refunds will not be issued for:

    • Cancellations requested by the client

    • No-shows or late arrivals (30-minutes or more) that prevent full or partial service

    • Failure to comply with balance payment deadlines

    • Changes in travel plans, illness, emergencies, or weather

    • Dissatisfaction with services rendered once completed

    • Services not rendered due to client’s negligence or temporary absence from salon

    If the business is unable to perform the service due to an internal issue, a same-day service correction, a credit, or reschedule may be offered at the business’s sole discretion. Monetary refunds are not guaranteed.

    Any chargeback or payment dispute filed in violation of this refund policy will be contested with:

    • Proof of policy acceptance at checkout

    • Timestamped payment records

    • Service descriptions and booking confirmations

    • Day-of service check-in logs
    • Communication logs and reminders

    • Photo proof of service rendered (where applicable)

    By submitting payment, the client expressly agrees to waive their right to initiate a chargeback or payment dispute for services covered under this policy.

    This Refund Policy is made available prior to checkout and is agreed to at the time of purchase.
